Glossary

GEO Framework Terms

Operational definitions. Not encyclopedic — functional to the framework implementation work.

Citability

The property of company content to be recognized and reproduced by language models as an authoritative source in response to decision queries. It does not depend on brand awareness but on the structure and clarity of content.

GEO — Generative Engine Optimization

The set of practices for optimizing a company's presence in the responses of generative engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot). It differs from SEO in its objective: not ranking but recommendation.

Presence Share

The percentage of relevant decision queries for the company's sector in which the company is cited in generative responses. Primary metric of the GEO framework. Measured monthly on a defined set of queries.

Citability Index

Composite metric that evaluates not only citation frequency but the quality of context: position in the response, association with relevant technical parameters, presence or absence of negative qualifiers.

Decision Query

The question formulated by a buyer to a generative system during the supplier research phase. Characterized by the intent to build a shortlist or compare options. The entry point to competitive evaluation.

Citability Audit

Systematic analysis of a company's current presence in generative responses. Includes mapping sector decision queries, verifying presence on each, and competitor comparison.

Company Glossary

The proprietary technical vocabulary of a company, structured to be recognizable and reproducible by language models. Fundamental component of the GEO framework: terminological consistency is a prerequisite for citability.

QPR — Query Presence Report

The monthly document that tracks the company's Presence Share on a defined set of decision queries. Operational monitoring tool of the GEO framework.

Findable

The first level of the GEO scale: the company appears in traditional searches. A necessary but insufficient condition in the age of generative engines.

Present

The second level of the GEO scale: the company is mentioned in generative system responses. Starting point of GEO work, not the final goal.

Citable

The third level of the GEO scale and framework goal: the company is recommended as a qualified supplier in generative responses to decision queries in its sector.

AI Decision Infrastructure

The second level of the framework, following operational GEO: the integration of AI systems into internal company decision processes. Subject of the second commercial product.
